Hope!

At times we find ourselves tossed to and fro from the stressors and challenges of life. Everything around us, whether it’s personal or a world event seems to drown out all positive thought and energy. Unwittingly and unexpectedly, life becomes overwhelming and we are faced with a heaviness for which an exact source cannot be found. It’s at times like this that we should turn towards our faith in God and stand firm on the fact that He is the author and finisher of our faith. It’s through Him that we draw strength to go on regardless of what’s going on around us in this sometimes crazy and toxic world.

During seasons such as this we are reminded to be grateful to a Heavenly Father who knows us intimately and who cares about every concern in our lives. We must redirect attention towards the fact that He has brought us safely through every trial and challenging circumstance in our life. When we allow ourselves to remember, we stand in awe and amazement of God’s unfailing and unconditional love for us and all creation.

In moments of delayed promises and disappointment, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Then exhale allowing your mind, body, and soul to be comforted by the savior. When we allow God to walk with us through every moment of every situation in this life, we will come to feel the refuge we have in his presence. This is where we often miss the mark, we do not let God remain close to our heart at all times. God never moves away from us, however, we move away from Him and try to manage the raging tides of life without him, only to cry out to God as we begin to drown in the waves of sorrow. Our Father in Heaven has such grace and mercy towards us that during these uncertain times, He quietly and gently guides us to a path of peace in spite of our self destructive way.

Today, I encourage you to look towards the hills from which cometh your help, because all your help comes from the Lord. Open your heart to receive his peace and feel the comfort of his love. Remember He cares for you and loves you more than you can ever imagine.

1 Thessalonians 5:16- 18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
